Objectives and Goals:
● To provide wide ranging information on “opportunities” that are critical to OSA kids (Middle School through Graduates) and the parents (specifically 1st generation parents)
● To come up with a sustainment plan for OSA Higher Education and Research Team (HEART) Efforts

OSA Women’s Empowerment (OWE)

Description

The objectives of the OWE team are: (1) To create a platform for empowering, encouraging, and providing awareness as well as a safe space for women in an inclusive community. (2) To advocate for the rights and voices of women and families in Odia communities, both in Odisha and the diaspora. Lead person for OSA 2024: Mamata Buxi

Climate Change

Description

The purpose of this initiative is to create awareness of the global climate crisis and understand the impact of global warming/ climate change on our planet with a goal to empower the next generation to take climate action and think of possible solutions to prevent it. Description

The focus of the OSA Spiritual Forum is to provide more exposure on Spiritual development to our next generation. The goal is to hold an open discussion with our youths together with their parents regarding the importance of religion and spirituality as they grow up in today’s society. Lead person: Manoj Sahu

Description

The Mission of OSA-HW group is to Promote and advance Health and Wellness of the Odia Community in Odisha and North America, through sharing of knowledge/ expertise which inspires the best possible healthcare and individual wellbeing. Further aims to offer professional development and create meaningful opportunities for the medical/ dental professionals in Odisha and those in-coming to North America. Youth and Next Generation

Description

Competition:
Speedcubing competition
Speedcubing is a competitive sport which is about solving a Rubik's cube in the shortest time possible. The goal of this competition is to support and encourage the growth of Speedcubing among OSA youths. The competition will use 3x3x3 standard Rubik's cube.
Participants must be of age Age 7 – 20, and must be registered for the 55th OSA Convention.

Odia Literature and Poetry Reading

Description

    1. OSA Poetry Reading (କବିତାଅଲୋଚନା) aims to bring together poets and poetry lovers to an enjoyable session of rendition of poetry written in our mother tongue, Odia. Organizers: Gagan Panigrahi, Prasanta Bhunya, Bigyani Das
    1. Odia Literature Discussion (ସାହିତ୍ୟଚର୍ଚା) aims to discuss classical Odia literature and preserve the awareness of the rich literary heritage of the mother tongue in the Odia diaspora.
